Lourdes Maestres
Fort Lauderdale's Definitive Luxury Real Estate Authority
I came to South Florida twenty-seven years ago. I've lived here, raised my kids here, built everything I have here. This was never a market I moved into chasing opportunity. This is home.
I got into real estate in 2009, right in the middle of the financial crisis. I didn't choose this career because it looked promising. I chose it because the economy had collapsed and I needed to rebuild, and I rebuilt in the hardest market imaginable. Foreclosures. Short sales. Homeowners losing properties they'd owned for decades. I was helping people navigate exactly what I was going through myself. I went through my own bankruptcy. I sold my own properties at a loss.
I don't share that to be sympathetic. I share it because it's the reason this business runs the way it does. When you've sat across from someone losing their home, and you've been in that same chair yourself, you learn fast that this work was never about homes sold. It's about people's lives, their financial stability, their families. They deserve the truth, the right strategy, and someone who will actually fight for them.
For the first ten years, I did everything myself: every call, every showing, every negotiation. I was good at it. But eventually I hit a ceiling, not because I ran out of skill, but because I ran out of hours. And when a solo agent runs out of hours, it's the client who gets whatever's left at the end of a fourteen-hour day. I refused to let that become the standard. In 2019, I built a team not to grow for growth's sake, but because I knew homeowners at this level deserved a level of service one person alone couldn't consistently deliver.
“I would rather lose the business than give you bad advice.”
The Track Record
Seventeen years in Fort Lauderdale luxury real estate, and one number tells the story: $1 billion and counting in lifetime sales volume. That's not a milestone I chase. It's the byproduct of a standard I've held since day one, home after home, market cycle after market cycle. While others adjust their approach to fit the moment, I've built my career on doing the opposite: setting a bar and holding it, regardless of what the market is doing around me.
The Approach
Luxury real estate isn't just about price point to me. It's about precision. I treat every home, every client relationship, and every negotiation with the same exacting standard, whether the property is a waterfront estate or a downtown high-rise. I don't believe in overpromising and underdelivering, and I don't believe in cutting corners to close faster.
What sets me apart isn't a gimmick or a script. It's consistency. Clients who work with me know exactly what they're getting: direct communication, real market expertise, and someone who treats their home, whether they're buying or moving on from it, like it matters, because it does. That standard extends through my entire team. Every homeowner and buyer who works with us experiences the same level of care, expertise, and follow-through I've built my reputation on.
