Your Fort Lauderdale Weekend: Jazz Brunch, a Luau, and a Little History

MPH Team·July 29, 2026

This weekend in Fort Lauderdale (August 1-2, 2026) brings a Caribbean history exhibit downtown, a four-year anniversary luau at Patio Bar & Pizza, a Sunday jazz brunch on the Riverwalk, and the Starlight Concert Series continuing in Victoria Park's Holiday Park.

Saturday, August 1

Start downtown at the African-American Research Library, where Freedom Across the Caribbean runs from 1 to 5pm, a look at Caribbean independence movements and their ties to South Florida's history. Later, Patio Bar & Pizza celebrates four years with a luau running from 3pm well into the night.

  • Patio Bar & Pizza 4-Year Anniversary Luau, 3pm-2am

Sunday, August 2

Sunday morning is made for the Riverwalk, where a Jazz Brunch runs from 11am to 2pm along the New River. It's one of the easier ways to see why buyers keep asking about the Riverwalk-adjacent condo buildings downtown.
