Your Fort Lauderdale Weekend: A Fall Festival, a Diwali Night, and a Ballet Premiere

Lourdes Maestres·October 20, 2026

This weekend brings a fall festival and a free Diwali night to Las Olas Oceanside Park. Miami City Ballet opens American Rhythms at the Au-Rene Theater downtown.

Saturday Daytime: Pumpkins and Palm Trees at the Beach Park

The sixth annual Pumpkins and Palm Trees Fall Festival runs Saturday, October 24. The park is Las Olas Oceanside Park, 3000 E. Las Olas Boulevard. Festival and carnival activities run 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The park's own calendar shows admission as free.

Three other things run inside that same Saturday window. The Oceanside Community MKT opens at 9:00 AM and runs to 5:00 PM. A student pie baking competition runs 10:00 AM to noon. The Broward Center Spotlights Trick-or-Treat Trail runs noon to 2:00 PM.

That stacking is the detail parents will want. The trail sits inside the festival hours, not after them. A family arriving at 2:30 PM gets the festival and misses the trail.

Saturday Night and Sunday: Miami City Ballet at the Au-Rene Theater

Miami City Ballet performs American Rhythms at the Au-Rene Theater. The theater is inside the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 Southwest 5th Avenue. The venue's own page carries three performances this weekend. Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 PM is the first. Sunday, October 25 carries a 1:00 PM matinee and a 6:30 PM evening performance.

The program carries Allegro Brillante by George Balanchine and N.Y. Export: Opus Jazz by Jerome Robbins. It also carries a world premiere by Patricia Delgado. The premiere is the reason to take Saturday night over the Sunday matinee.

Sunday Night: Diwali at the Same Beach Park

A Diwali Celebration runs Sunday, October 25 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The venue is Las Olas Oceanside Park, 3000 E. Las Olas Boulevard, 33316. The park's own event page shows live music, dance performances, and food and merchandise vendors. Admission is free.

Two free events at one beach park in two days has a parking consequence. Sunday evening and Saturday midday are the two pressure points on that block.

Friday Is Quiet, and That Is Worth Knowing

The park's own calendar carries nothing for Friday, October 23. No festival, no market, no concert. A Friday evening visit to that stretch of beach will feel like a normal Friday.

That is useful in one specific way. A buyer judging a beach-area home should see it on both days.

The Weekend Roster in One Place

These are the details worth having before you go:

  • Pumpkins and Palm Trees Fall Festival. Saturday, October 24, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Las Olas Oceanside Park, 3000 E. Las Olas Boulevard. Free.
  • Oceanside Community MKT. Saturday, October 24, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Same park.
  • Student pie baking competition. Saturday, October 24, 10:00 AM to noon. Same park.
  • Broward Center Spotlights Trick-or-Treat Trail. Saturday, October 24, noon to 2:00 PM. Same park.
  • Miami City Ballet, American Rhythms. Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 PM. Au-Rene Theater, 201 Southwest 5th Avenue.
  • Miami City Ballet, American Rhythms. Sunday, October 25 at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Au-Rene Theater, 201 Southwest 5th Avenue.
  • Diwali Celebration. Sunday, October 25, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Las Olas Oceanside Park. Free.

What We Could Not Confirm

Three things, and the first one matters most.

Ticket prices for American Rhythms are not published on the venue's page. The page says prices are subject to change and carry service charges. So we are not printing a ticket price here.

The per-event page for Pumpkins and Palm Trees would not load for us. The Saturday date and the 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM window come from two places that agree. Those are the park's own weekend calendar and the organizer's own announcement of October 7, 2026. The word free comes from the calendar. The announcement does not repeat it.

NSU Art Museum carries an Art Talk on Saturday, October 24. It runs 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 1 East Las Olas Boulevard. The museum's own page does not state an admission price for it. We are naming it rather than dropping it. A low-cost morning option matters on a festival Saturday. Call the museum before you plan around it.

Before You Judge a Beach Address

Lourdes Maestres has spent 17 years selling luxury real estate in Fort Lauderdale. A weekend roster is also a noise map. The buyers who get surprised by a beach address are rarely the ones who never visited. They are the ones who visited on a quiet Friday and assumed Saturday looked the same.

Lourdes and the MPH Team will walk you through a beach-area home on a festival Saturday. You will hear the park, and you will see the parking before you make an offer.
